Ujjal Sinha

A debut novelist who arrived at fiction after a lifetime of watching the world closely enough to reinvent it.

Ujjal Sinha is a veteran of the advertising industry, a cinephile, and a wordsmith. An avid reader, Sinha can even be found reading the small print on packaging material, just in case he comes across a new word. A mentor to many and a serial entrepreneur, he has set up a number of business ventures. At 60, he turned to writing fiction. Ujanjatra (Boats Against the Current) is his debut novel. He has since published another novel and a collection of short stories. He lives and writes in Kolkata, India.
