About event
As Zeytin Press steps into the publishing world, we wanted to celebrate the beginning of something new in the company of the people who make it meaningful. Join us for a summer evening in London with live music and the unveiling of our first printed edition: Nassim Assefi’s novel, Say I Am You.
As a doctor, activist, and writer, Nassim Assefi has dedicated her career to the spaces where medicine, human rights, and storytelling converge. Although this is not her first work, it is her most personal in the sense that it’s the closest she has come to a self-portrait on the page.
Say I Am You follows the story of Behnaz, an Iranian-American doctor who is roped into the political intrigue of US-occupied Kabul, navigating the tensions between the militarisation of aid work, the impact of the war, and the looming threat of the Taliban on ordinary Afghans. Her book is slated for film production in Morocco.
Cocktails, mocktails, conversation, and books await.
