Sarah Vrieling: The Artist Behind Our Covers

We’re happy to announce our first official artistic cover collaboration with the lovely Sarah Vrieling, a Dutch visual artist born in 1995, based in Harderwijk, Netherlands. A portrait artist by trade, her contemporary work centres on botanical and natural forms, exploring themes of stillness, memory, and transience through painting.

Vrieling holds a degree in Graphic Design from CIBAP in Zwolle (2014–2017) and a degree in Fine Art Education from the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht (2018–2023). That dual foundation in design and fine art is visible in her practice as her compositions are deliberate and stripped back, favouring silhouette, shadow, and analogous colour palettes over decorative detail.

Her exhibition history includes shows at Kunsthub Bink in Elburg (2021), Cultuurkust Harderwijk (2023), and Brasserie De Bank Harderwijk (2025), alongside a current exhibition at the Stadsmuseum Harderwijk (2025). She has twice been recognised by the Dutch portrait art community, receiving nominations for the Weekend van het Portret (2020) and De Nederlandse Portretprijs (2021).
